Did you know you make amazing all-natural, vegan ice cream with only frozen bananas! Well you can, and it is one of the greatest things ever!
Okay, this is how you do it:
- Freeze Bananas
- Blend Bananas
- Eat Bananas
That’s the short of it anyways. You can make it that simple and it’s amazing just like that, but you can also add in all sorts of treats to really spice things up! I’ve tried adding peanut butter, almond butter, cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, maple syrup and other frozen fruits. It all works, you really can’t go wrong.
Todays variety had:
- 3 frozen bananas, make sure they’re really solid
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla
- a little almond milk, adjust in blender to desired consistency (I like it really thick so I don’t add much)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp cocoa
I actually really like this with nothing but the bananas, or a little bit of peanut butter. I found it’s too rich with the chocolate sauce added, this was the first time I added sauce to it. I prefer a simpler version of it, plus all you need is bananas and nothing else! That way it’s inexpensive and super easy to make with no added sugar. If the bananas are really well frozen, the texture is amazing – just like soft serve ice cream. You’ll have to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times but it doesn’t take long to get the right consistency. At first it will appear flaky and dry, but keep blending with a touch of non-dairy milk and it will come out perfectly. Enjoy!
