Gift Guide for CrossFit and Fitness Lovers
My weightlifting belt is one piece of gym equipment I use quite often and anyone serious about weightlifting or CrossFit would love to have one of their own. My favourite brands for weightlifting belts are Unbroken Designs, 2Pood, Harbinger and Rogue. I’m not a big fan of the big, thick leather belts and I like the more flexible cloth ones but that’s my personal preference.
Physical training is only one part of the game. More and more emphasis is being put on developing your mental game and how important your mindset is. There are some fantastic books out there to help your favourite athlete develop inside and out.
- Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
- The Champion’s Mind: How Great Athletes Think, Train and Thrive
- First: What It Takes to Win
- Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win
- The Brave Athlete: Calm the F*ck Down and Rise to the Occasion
- How Bad Do You Want It?
That’s just a sampling of some of the books out there on mental toughness. I would love getting any of these under my tree! If you’re looking for something to go along with a good book, a subscription to the popular meditation app, Headspace would also be amazing.
Those hardcore fitness buffs, competitive athletes and CrossFitters in your life would love to get their hands on a weighted vests. Weighted vests are an awesome and evil training tool and those serious about improving their fintess and challenging themselves love to have one of these in their fitness toolbox.
Wireless headphones are key for listening to music while you’re training and good music is key for tough training sessions!
Wrist wraps are inexpensive so would made a great stocking stuffer or small gift. They’d also pair great with a weightlifting belt, knee sleeves or a gym bag. You can get these thicker wraps on Amazon, which are more for weightlifting and powerlifting, or click the link below for wraps that allow more range of motion making them a good choice for CrossFit. Box Basics also carries wraps with fun designs like the ones pictured above.
Speed ropes for performing double unders range in price from about $10 up to around $50. I used a cheap speed rope for years and they’re fantastic and get the job done. There are a ton of great choices on Amazon.
I now have a RX Smart Gear rope, which is on the pricier side but I really love it, plus you get to customize the handles and cable which is also fun!
CrossFit can get very sweaty so both guys and girls can appreciate a headband to prevent sweat from dripping into their eyes. Junk Headbands have some really fun and cool designs for men and women to help with that while still looking good.
Give your favourite weightlifter or CrossFitter a pair of Nike Romaleos and watch them jump up and down with joy. These beauties come at a price tag but they’re well worth the investment and they last forever. Nike recently released the Romaleos 3 so you might be able to find a good deal on Romaleos 2 if you look around.
Athletic tape is cheap and not very exciting but it’s always great to have a few extras in your gym bag. Grab a pack on Amazon for the perfect stocking stuffer for any dedicated gym goer. Kinesiology therapeutic tape would also be much appreciated! You can also find athletic tape in fun colours here.
You’ve gotta have that sock game on point. Haha. Stance socks are all the rage and no wonder, they’ve got all the best styles! Check out this holiday box set, these Later Hater athletic socks and for your fave nerdy Star Wars + fitness lovers, you gotta go with these R2D2 socks. Stance Socks are my go-to gift for pretty much anyone, including myself.
Look good, train good, right? Plus, who doesn’t want training shorts covered in cupcakes, donuts and ice cream??
Some popular and fun CrossFit and training apparel brands to check out are:
I don’t really use knee sleeves but it depends on the person and their body, limitations and injuries. I have used them in the past and they’re definitely helpful and effective, especially if you’re lifting a lot and tend to get achy knees that just need some warmth and compression while training.
Keeping track of your progress is am important part of staying focused, identifying weaknesses and making improvements. While there are apps and digital notebooks to do this, I prefer pen and paper for recording my . Plus at just $10, a training journal is a great stocking stuffer or addition to a CrossFit gift pack with athletic tape, mobility gear and socks.
Well, you’re gonna need a cool gym bag to put all your cool gym stuff in right? Some popular and high-quality, functional CrossFit bags include:
CrossFit athletes put their hands through the ringer. If you have a CrossFit lover in your life, changes are you’ve seen how gross their hands can get! Gymnastics grips are a great gift to help protect those beat up hands. You could also throw in a WOD Welder Hand Care Kit.
A mobility gift pack would be a great gift to keep your fitness friends and fam feeling great and moving well. Build your own with a foam roller, resistance bands, mobility balls, muscle floss and my favourite, this self-massage massage roller. This trigger point massage back and neck massager is amazing too.
For those of you that take your wedding ring off for the gym, these silicone wedding bands are a great way to keep showing the love while you’re training. They’re just a few dollars and would make a great gift for your partner or favourite CrossFit couple.
CrossFitters, weightlifters and bodybuilders love to film themselves working out. If you have any friends that are CrossFit freaks, I’m sure you’ve seen their training videos posted to Instagram!
Whether they’re filming to share on social media or to review their technique, these flexible mini tripods with smartphone attachments are super handy at the gym.
You’re favourite CrossFitter is most likely after No Bull shoes, Nike Metcons or Reebok Nanos. Wrap up a pair of training shoes or pick up a gift card to Rogue or somewhere else they can pick out their own pair.
I hope you found something you’d love to gift to those fitness fiends in your life! You can also check out my healthy gift guide for thoughtful and useful gifts for the health and wellness lovers in your life.
