Wow, 2015 is shaping up to be another speedy year, isn’t it? It’s almost March, can you believe it?! That means we’re almost one quarter of the way through this year. How are you coming along with your goals and resolutions for this year? Are you still on track to reach everything you set out for yourself?
My year is going really, really well and I’m so excited to see what else this year has in store for me. My health and fitness goals are coming along, Running on Real Food is doing great (thanks to you guys – THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!) and life is just really good over here in Vancouver. My favourite things and little luxuries certainly help make life that much better though, so today I’m sharing the second edition of my current favourite things.
Last month I talked about Miracle Mornings by Hal Elrod, MCT oil (still obsessed), making hemp milk and had a giveaway for a 6-pack of Hurraw Lip Balm. The post went over really well and I loved hearing about what’s making you all happy at the moment!
I’ve got another giveaway this month thanks to Natural Vitality, so have a read to see what I’m loving at the moment and then enter the giveaway at the bottom!
Let’s get started!
I don’t know why I waited to long to get an oil diffuser, now I’m not sure how I lived without it! I love pumping that thing day and night to create whatever environment I’m in the mood for! I usually have an energizing or focusing oil going during the day and then switch to something to reduce stress, calm and promote quality sleep in the evenings.
I’m about ready to buy one for every room and get his whole place going! Oil diffusers a can help improve air quality, improve respiration and even help boost immunity. I’ll take all of the above! I’ve been using oil blends from Sage Wellness, a local Vancouver company but you can find plenty of great options online.
Tony Robbins might be a little too cheesy for some of you but I think he’s awesome and he’s one of my favourite motivational speakers and writers. One of my goals for 2015 was to improve my knowledge of finances and really come up with a solid plan for the future. I’d never thought all that much about my finances before, I do the basics and that’s about it. After reading this book, I can say my eyes have been opened and I’m actually excited about it now!
In Money: Master the Game, Robbins discusses the 7 steps you can take to reach financial freedom. The book is geared towards people living in the USA but the tips and tricks are applicable regardless of where you live. I found it all really inspiring and eye opening as to what’s possible with just a little effort on your end. For the most part, I found it to be clear enough for me to understand and the parts that I didn’t I was able to do a little more research on my own. he really guides you through the actionable steps you need to take to really make a difference in your future financial wellbeing.
I officially can’t live without this amazing content marketing editorial calendar from Co-Schedule. The fact that I can schedule all my social content right from WordPress has become invaluable to me and at only $10/month, you really can’t beat it! I love being able to see everything in once place and easily fill in the gaps in my content calendar. I can drag and drop content around as needed and post directly to my social accounts quickly and easily months in advance, all from within WordPress!
The best thing about it is hands down the WordPress plug-in. Being able to set up all my social posts as I’m finishing up my a blog post is so convenient and I don’t have to move around to other scheduling apps or native platforms to schedule. It’s also easy to promote old posts so you can put your back log of content to work for you.
I did the trial first and let it run out. Once the trial ended I realized how much I was loving it and quickly signed up for the paid version. Seriously, if you’re a WordPress blogger, I’d say Co-Schedule is a must-have for your blogging toolbox. Sign-Up Here.
My love affair with oils continues and the newest addition to the party is temanu oil. I actually look forward putting this on every night because I know my skin will be that much clearer and smoother the next morning. Plus, it just feels great to put on! Temanu oil is derived from the nut kernels of the tropical temanu tree and it’s particularly good for helping to even the skin tone and fade marks and scars.
I have a lot of redness in my skin and I’ve found tamanu oil is really helping to even it out, I’d also attribute that to lavender oil though, another must-have in my skin care routine. I also have some dark spots on my face from old acne scars and I’ve found they’re all starting to even out a bit. I’ve been using different oils on my face now for almost a year and its completely changed the way my skin feels and looks. I used to have really irritated, tight, dry and sensitive skin on my face and since getting rid of all conventional cleansers and moisturizers, my face is finally (finally!!) happy.
Morning and night, I look forward to cleaning and moisturizing with essential oils. They soothe and nourish the skin, can reduce redness, fade dark spots, treat and prevent acnes and generally help to create a healthy, glowing complexion. Love ’em!
I took a long hiatus from skin brushing just because I got lazy with it but I’ve been back at it for about a month and it really is such an amazing and effective addition to your self-care routine. It really does make your skin look and feel amazing.
Time wise, I don’t do it everyday but that would be ideal. I’m getting it in about 3 or 4 times a week and I swear it’s almost as good as a cup of coffee in the morning. It is so invigorating! I feel like my whole body is buzzing when I’m done. I’ll spend about 5 minutes brushing before hopping in the shower. Plus, you know those little bumps you get on the back of your arms and legs, presto! Gone! That’s probably the best part about it.
Dry skin brushing can help to boost circulation, remove dead skin for a healthy glow, reduce the appearance of cellulite and is a great way to detox the body through it’s largest organ, the skin! Simply brush your skin in large, circular motion from your feet up up to your neck. It can hurt a little at first but you get used to the refreshing, tingly feeling after a few times.
Finally, it’s giveaway time!! Last week I featured the Calmful Balance eGuide from Natural Vitality on the blog and they’re back today with an awesome giveaway for you! The generous team over at Natural Vitality has offered an amazing Natural Calm prize pack valued at $100 for one very lucky reader!
Natural Calm quickly became one of my favourite things when I was provided with some samples to try. After doing more research and reading through their informative website, I was intrigued! I now love, love, love this stuff! Every night as I’m winding down for the day, I have a big glass of Raspberry Lemon Natural Calm to help restore healthy magnesium levels in my body.
