What a good week it’s been! Very busy but good. I’ve officially been a blogger for 1 week! Yay me! I’m really enjoying it so far, but it’s also daunting checking out all the amazing women out there who are health, fitness and food blogging. Right now my goal is simply to stay consistent with posting, I have lots of ideas for the future but it does take a lot of time. I normally go to bed at 10pm but I was up until midnight all week, which meant I slept in every day except Monday, which meant no morning yoga all week!
My Workouts this Week:
Monday: Get Moving Monday Workout
Tuesday: Tuesday Treadmill Workout
Wednesday: All Core Workout
Thursday: Upper Body Blast Workout
Friday: Long Slow Climb Workout
Saturday: Hatha Yoga Flow Class
Sunday: Outdoor 10km Run
Yoga on Saturday was amazing, one of those classes where despite people practicing within a few inches of you on all sides, I was still able to focus. I felt strong and focused in all my poses and I’m feeling it today! My hips, glutes, abs and triceps are sore, which is fine by me.
Sundays 10km run was slow and easy. It felt good not to worry about the clock and just have a nice run on the seawall with my husband.
Overall I had a really good week of workouts. On Friday, I forgot my running shoes so I couldn’t workout on my lunch break. By the time I got home after work I really didn’t want to head back out, but I knew I wanted to post a hill workout on the blog- so I went and got it done. Thanks for the motivation everyone! I think starting this blog is going to be a great way to stay accountable. Any other day I probably would have skipped that workout, telling my self it’s just one 30 minute run and it won’t make a difference, but it does make a difference!
On to eats this week! I made two super yummy raw and vegan desserts this week: Banana Soft Serve and Cookie Dough Chocolate Ganache. Both were a success!
The gorgeous salad pictured below made my Saturday night, such an exciting life! Mmmm, I so love fresh salads full of nuts, seeds, fruits and greens. They’re good to look at and good for the body. Isn’t it amazing how good fresh salad smells – I’d even say it smelled better than BBQ steaks my husband made for himself and our guests. My steak was a big plate of lemon and garlic swiss chard, yum!
This salad had:
- 1/2 of an avocado/per person
- 1-2 tbsp pecans/person
- 1 tbsp raw pumpkin seeds/person
- 3-4 sliced strawberries/person
- 1/4 of a red pepper/person sliced
- 1/4 of a cucumber/person
The dressing had:
- Red wine vinegar
- Olive oil
- 4 cloves of garlic
- cayenne pepper
Tonights dinner was vegetable soup – no recipe, just a concoction of veggies and spices added however the heart desires. I love making this soup, it’s great for cleaning out the fridge and it’s great for warming up after a long run in the rain. It’s also incredibly filling yet very low-calorie, and you can’t go wrong with that!
Tonights version had:
- Brussel Sproats
- Red Onion
- Celery Salt
- Chili Power
- Cayenne Pepper
Well that’s about it for the week! Only 2 work days and we’re off to the Mayan Reviera- sun, sand, surf…did I mention SUN!! Can’t wait. I’ll be hitting it hard at the gym for the next two days so stay tuned for the workout post! I see burpees in my future. Hope you all had a fantastic week!
Anyone else off on vacation soon? Where are you going?
