I loved this workout today – I did it today on my lunch break and I was in and out of the gym in no time! I don’t have much to say today because I’m running around last minute packing for Mexico in the morning!! I’m not sure if I’ll be posting over the next week as I’ll most likely be busy eating guacamole and lying in the sun.
I should quickly mention warm-ups and cool-downs – I’m terrible at doing them and I need to work on that. I know they’re so important and I constantly skip them, eventually I know this will lead to an injury. Today I walked straight up to the treadmill and starting running at 9.0 mph! So if you do this workout, or any workout for that matter, please take the time to warm up for both of us! A dynamic warm-up would be ideal, try walking lunges, hip swings, skipping, arm circles, jumping jacks, high knees – any body-weight exercise that gets you moving and your heart pumping will work! I went straight back to my desk after this workout and sat there for 3 more hours – not the best way to cool-down!! If you have time, let your heart rate come down and have a good stretch.
My workout went like this:
- 400s at 9.0 mph
- 800s at 8.5 mph
I finished off my workout with:
- 2 x 60 seconds plank
- 30 seconds side plank on each side
